Events in Tenby: Summer 2015

Here’s a quick glance ahead at the events we’re looking forward to this summer:

South Wales Male Choir (Friday 12th) – St Mary’s Church, Tenby. Tickets are just £10 each.

The Art of Water watercolour exhibition (ends Monday 29th) – Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, in association with the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales, present more than 50 pieces from a number of the Society’s members, which aim to explore the similarities and differences in watercolour art between two of Europe’s most important cultures.

Long Course Weekend (Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th) – This gruelling triathlon takes place over 3 days, starting with the swim section on Friday from North Beach, so if you’re staying with us this weekend and not competing you can enjoy the spectacle of the swim section from the comfort of our 1st floor guest lounge.

Only Men Aloud: Live at Pembroke Castle (Sunday 5th) – The Classical Brit Award winning choir perform live at the stunning Pembroke Castle, with support from X Factor finalist Jay James. Pembroke Castle is only 20 minutes’ drive from Tenby and the perfect location to enjoy an evening of live music.

Tenby 10K (Sunday 26th) – Tenby’s annual 10K run is a must for any long distance runner. Take in the beautiful views of Tenby and the surrounding countryside whilst setting a personal best time. No more than 600 entrants are able to take part and entry has already been open for a couple of months so if you’re thinking of taking part you need to apply ASAP.

Tenby Caldey Swim (Sunday 2nd) – Just one week after the Tenby 10K comes an event perfect for more amphibious athletes. This is a 2 mile swim from Caldey Island to Tenby’s North Beach, and raises funds for Tenby’s RNLI, making this event both an impressive physical challenge and an exciting way to raise money for an integral local cause.

Tenby Summer Spectacular (Every Sunday) – Every Sunday throughout August Tenby Harbour plays host to one of Tenby’s most exciting events, the Tenby Summer Spectacular: A festival of food, music and activities, with plenty of entertainment to suit all age groups. The Summer Spectacular ends on Sunday 30th August with the Tenby Lions Paella Festival.

IRONMAN Wales 2015 (Sunday 13th) – Once again Tenby plays host to the Welsh edition of the World’s most intense triathlon, the IRONMAN. Tenby’s IRONMAN course is widely accepted as having one of the most challenging bike and run sections on the IRONMAN calendar, and coupled with North Beach’s striking swim segment, it makes for a truly fantastic occasion for competitors and spectators alike.
